Lava CHEESE Dip - Dangerously Good

June 9, 2010
I have a new recipe to share! This recipe to me is an indulgence food. If you are counting your carbs, STAY AWAY from this dip! But it's so good, you can't just dip into it once. It's really good for get togethers & parties. Or if you were like me, and wanted an unhealthy snack to watch during Glee :)

It's a Lava Cheese Dip. It's so rich, and cheeeesy, and good.. It's dangerous actually.
2 TBS butter
3 TBS flour
1 cup of milk
7 - 10 slices of cheese (american, cheddar, pepperjack, choose whatever you wish!)
1lb of crumbled hot sausage (to make things easy, just take the casings off regular sausages and crumble that)
1 large onion
8 oz of medium or hot salsa
1 can of chillies or 2 diced jalapenos
(for extra spice add a few drops of your favorite hot sauce)

1. Brown sausage & onions in a skillet. Drain & degrease on a paper towel.

2. In a medium sized pot or crock pot, melt 2 tbs of butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk.

3. Add cup of milk and whisk until it becomes a little thick.

4. Slowly add slices of cheese as you continue to whisk.

5. Add salsa, jalapenos, and sausage mixture. Stir until evenly mixed.

6. Serve in a bowl with your favorite tortilla chips!.. if you use a crock pot, keep it on low all day.

Enjoy!

Peace, Love, & Happy Eating!

Laura
