What a nice day it was out today, at least it was where I live!
Today I have a recipe to share. FINALLY!
This is one of my favorite recipes, and the combo of flavors is amazinggggg.
LEMON POPPY SEED BREAD (with orange glaze)
3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cup sugar
2 TBS poppy seeds
3 eggs
The zest of one lemon
The zest of one lemon
1 1/8 cup oil (such as vegetable or coconut oil)
1 1/2 tsp almond extract or leave it out and use lemon extract for extra lemony taste!
Preheat oven to 350
Mix ingredients in large bowl (mix dry first, then incorporate wet)
Pour into well greased & floured bread pans
Bake for 20 - 30 minutes, or when toothpick comes out clean
(my new oven cooks things really fast, so just keep an eye on yours!)

ORANGE GLAZE
1/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
Mix ingredients together
Pour over loaves while still warm in the pan
Cool for 5 minutes, remove and serve!

Ohh, goodness. My boyfriend loves lemon poppyseed bread/muffins, so I'll need to save this recipe and surprise him with it sometime. :D
Also, is it just me or is there no lemon actually listed in this recipe? o.O lol
